Leather cutting, engraving and small leather goods

Precise laser cutting and engraving on leather, and small leather items we cut on the laser and finish by hand in our Austin shop. Send your design, or describe what you want made.

What we do with leather

  • Laser cutting: clean, repeatable leather shapes from your vector file, including fine detail, inside cutouts and stitching holes that line up.
  • Laser engraving: logos, names, text and artwork burned into the leather surface, on pieces we make or as part of a larger order.
  • Small leather goods: items we cut on the laser and then assemble and finish by hand, such as card holders, wallets and small pouches.

We cut leather from thin up to fairly thick. For heavy leather, tell us the thickness you need and we will confirm it on your quote.

Laser-cut leather edges come out darkened, a look many leather pieces keep as the finished edge. Tell us the look you want and we will confirm the leather on your quote.

We make small leather items. We do not make bags, shoes or other large leather goods.

Good uses

  • Engraved patches and labels for hats, jackets and gear
  • Keychains, tags and luggage tags
  • Card holders and simple wallets
  • Small pouches and cases
  • Coasters and gifts with a name or logo
  • Matching pieces in quantity for a team, event or brand

What to send us

  1. Your design: a vector file (SVG, DXF, AI or PDF) for cut shapes, or a logo or artwork (PNG works) to engrave. No file? A sketch or photo of what you want is fine.
  2. What it is: a flat cut or engraved piece, or a finished item such as a wallet or pouch.
  3. Size and quantity.
  4. Leather color, finish and thickness, if you have a preference.
  5. Deadline, and Austin-area meetup or shipping (US only).

On the quote form, pick Laser cutting or Laser engraving (or both) and say it is leather in the description. Our file prep guide covers vector files for cutting.

Machines

Leather is cut and engraved on our Bambu Lab R1, a 55 W CO2 laser with a working area of up to 600 x 300 mm (about 23.6 x 11.8 in). Full specs are on machines and materials.

How quoting works

Every job is quoted individually. The price depends on your design, the leather, the size, the quantity and how much hand finishing it needs. We review what you send, ask about anything unclear and reply with a quote. Nothing is made until you approve it.
