What we make things with
Three Bambu Lab 3D printers, a Bambu Lab CO2 laser and an xTool fiber and diode laser, all here in Austin. The figures below are the manufacturers' rated maximums. We confirm what fits, and in what material, on your quote.
3D printers
All three are enclosed FDM printers with hardened steel nozzles, which is what abrasive carbon fiber and glass fiber filaments need.
Bambu Lab H2D
| Build volume, one nozzle | Up to 325 x 320 x 325 mm (about 12.8 x 12.6 x 12.8 in) |
|---|---|
| Build volume, both nozzles | 300 x 320 x 320 mm |
| Nozzles | Two, hardened steel |
| Max nozzle temperature | 350 °C |
| Max bed temperature | 120 °C |
| Chamber | Actively heated, up to 65 °C |
Bambu Lab H2C
| Build volume, one nozzle | Up to 325 x 320 x 320 mm (about 12.8 x 12.6 x 12.6 in) |
|---|---|
| Build volume, both nozzles | 300 x 320 x 320 mm |
| Nozzles | Two, hardened steel |
| Max nozzle temperature | 350 °C |
| Max bed temperature | 120 °C |
| Chamber | Actively heated, up to 65 °C |
Bambu Lab X1C
| Build volume | Up to 256 x 256 x 256 mm (about 10.1 x 10.1 x 10.1 in) |
|---|---|
| Nozzle | One, hardened steel |
| Max nozzle temperature | 300 °C |
| Max bed temperature | 120 °C (on US 110 V power) |
Bigger than the build volume? Some large parts can be printed in sections and joined. Ask on your quote.
Lasers
The R1 handles most cutting and engraving of wood, acrylic and leather. The F2 Ultra adds a fiber laser for marking, engraving and thin cutting on bare metal.
Bambu Lab R1
| Laser | 55 W CO2 |
|---|---|
| Working area | Up to 600 x 300 mm (about 23.6 x 11.8 in) |
| Largest sheet that fits | 710 x 380 mm (about 28 x 15 in) |
| Max cut, acrylic | Up to 20 mm |
| Max cut, black walnut | Up to 15 mm with the short-focus lens, 18 mm with the medium- or long-focus lens |
xTool F2 Ultra
| Lasers | 60 W MOPA fiber and 40 W diode |
|---|---|
| Working area | Up to 220 x 220 mm (8.6 x 8.6 in) |
| Max cut, brass | Up to 2 mm |
| Max cut, stainless steel | Up to 2 mm |
| Max cut, aluminum | Up to 1 mm |
| Metal marking | Engraving and color marking on bare metal |
Cut thickness depends on the exact material, so the maximums above are not a promise for every sheet. Tell us the material and thickness and we will confirm on your quote.
3D printing materials
We work with filaments from everyday PLA up to carbon fiber filled engineering materials, within what the printers above are rated for:
- PLA: easy, accurate, many colors. Good for models, prototypes and indoor parts.
- PETG: tougher than PLA, handles more heat and moisture.
- ABS and ASA: higher heat resistance. ASA holds up better outdoors.
- TPU: flexible and rubbery, for grips, bumpers and gaskets.
- PC (polycarbonate): strong and heat resistant.
- PA (nylon): tough and wear resistant.
- Carbon fiber and glass fiber filled grades of these materials, for stiff, strong engineering parts.
This is what we can print, not a list of colors we keep in stock. Tell us what the part needs to do and we will recommend a material and confirm availability on your quote.
Laser materials
Cut and engrave (R1): wood, acrylic (including clear acrylic), leather, fabric, paper and EVA foam.
Engrave only (R1): glass, ceramic and coated metal. Bare metal needs the F2 Ultra.
Bare metal (F2 Ultra): engraving and marking on stainless steel, aluminum, brass, titanium, silver and gold, color marking on stainless steel and titanium, and cutting thin brass, stainless steel and aluminum.
Not sure about a material? Ask before you buy it. Some plastics, such as PVC and vinyl, give off toxic fumes under a laser.
File formats we accept
