Austin, TX 3D printing Laser engraving Laser cutting Leather

Send us your file.
We make the part.

File to Form is a small shop in Austin, Texas that turns digital files into real, physical parts with FDM 3D printing, laser engraving and laser cutting. No file yet? Tell us what you need and we can help you get one made.

What we make

Custom parts and custom pieces, made from your file

  • 3D printing (FDM)

Parts printed layer by layer from your 3D model. A good fit for prototypes, replacement parts, brackets, mounts, enclosures, fixtures and one-off pieces.

  • Laser engraving

Text, logos and artwork engraved into the surface of a piece. Useful for personalized items, labels, tags, signs and gifts.

  • Laser cutting

Flat shapes cut out of sheet material from your vector file. Useful for signs, templates, inlays, panels and layered pieces.

  • Leather

Leather cut and engraved on the laser, and small leather goods finished by hand: patches, tags, card holders, wallets and pouches.

Send a sketch, a photo, or measurements and describe what the piece needs to do. We can talk through turning your idea into a file we can make. How that works.

Free tools

See it before you order

Preview your design on real materials, or check your 3D file for printing problems, right in your browser. When it looks right, send it straight to a quote request.

  • Engraving and cutting preview

Upload a logo, drawing or photo and see it engraved into, or cut out of, wood, leather, slate, acrylic, glass or metal, to scale.

  • 3D file check

Open an STL or 3MF file in 3D and check it for holes, size, thin walls and overhangs that need supports, before you send it.
